If you love your dog then you know that means being with them for the good times and the bad. Dog healthcare is just as important as the healthcare of your family. For many people, their dog is a member of their family.

With that in mind, here are some symptoms of dog health that you should pay attention to because they could be a sign of a more serious health risk especially cancer.

7.Loss of Appetite

There are several potential physical and psychological causes behind your dog losing their appetite. They are all just as serious as the other though. If you notice your dog hasn’t eaten anything in over 24 hours, you need to act immediately. Once the underlying cause has been taken care of, you can start monitoring their diet and nutrition plan better.

6.Coughing

This might sound a little weird, but dogs do cough when sick. Much like humans, if coughing is persistent and isn’t remedied by usual treatments and care, then it could be an indication of dog cancer. Dog cancer, in particular dog lung cancer, is a very serious issue. Make sure to take your dog to the vet.

5.Nosebleeds

Seeing blood on your dog anywhere is distressing, but nothing is worse than a dog with a nosebleed. They can be painful and annoying. Don’t even consider giving them vitamins, anti-inflammatories, or antibiotics. Keep calm and take your dog to the vet and get their advice on any potential medications or transfusions.

4.Injuries

All of these present with other dog health problems including fever, tachycardia, exercise intolerance, and ragged breathing. There’s nothing more important than pet health to a pet owner, so keep an eye out for these symptoms.

2.Crying and Complaints

It doesn’t matter what kind of dog you have, whether it’s a golden retriever or a German shepherd or anything in-between, crying, panting, and complaints are always a sign that something is wrong. Don’t use any home remedies or advice from friends that have experienced similar situations. This is your pet’s life that you’re dealing with. Their healthcare depends on you and they need you to be smart about it.
